Colors for painting kids bedrooms

Painting your kid’s bedroom when they were born was an easy task. You probably had their bedroom walls painted and decorated with blue color for a boy or a pink color for the girl. You may have used a light grey paint for the bedroom as a neutral color and painted the ceiling with white color paint to let them figure out what color they want in the future. This is a wise decision, and there is nothing wrong with that.

The best color for painting a kids bedroom

Now the kids are older. They have expressed a desire to have their bedroom walls and ceilings painted again with another color. As a parent, you will have to help him/her choose and start the process of painting the bedroom with the colors they picked.

As a parent of a teenager, the first question is usually what is the cost to paint a bedroom? How many colors does he/she want on the walls? Luckily for us parents, there are many colors available that make this an “easy job” to tackle. You may be ready to run downstairs, get in the car, and drive to the closest paint store. You will purchase tons of different colors in eight-ounce sample cans, and begin painting swatches on the walls. Then you and your kids will stand back and ask which color is the best. There is another option.

The color visualizer tool

One of the greatest tools offered by all paint manufacturers is the color visualizer. Simply take a picture of the kid’s bedroom and upload the picture to their website. Then you can visualize how the chosen color will look before you purchase all the paint and start painting the ceilings, walls, doors, and trims.

Before you ask, yes, there are color visualizer apps for Android or Apple cellphones. The process is the same for use on a computer. Take a picture with your phone and upload it to the site.

With the technology to “see” a room painted before it’s done, you and the kid or kids you are painting for can have a lot less anxiety of picking the wrong color and regretting the time and money spent on the project.

After you have picked the colors, it’s time to begin your bedroom painting project. First, begin by preparing the walls by covering the nail holes and dents. Then sand, prime, and paint. Don’t forget to drop clothes and blue tape.
